Pomme de Terre Lake, located in southwestern Missouri, is a popular destination for recreational boating and fishing. In order to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all lake users, the Army Corps of Engineers has established a set of dock restrictions on the lake.

One of the primary restrictions on Pomme de Terre Lake is the prohibition of private floating docks. This regulation aims to minimize congestion and maintain the natural beauty of the lake. Instead, lakefront property dock owners are allowed to construct fixed or stationary docks, provided that they adhere to specific guidelines regarding size, location, and construction materials. Owners will have to contact the Corps of Engineers if they are wanting to upgrade a dock and submit plans for approval.

There are no new dock permits allowed on Pomme de Terre Lake. If you want a dock you will need to purchase one with a property or from an individual sale.

Additionally, the Army Corps of Engineers strictly regulates the placement of boat docks to prevent obstruction of navigation channels and to protect sensitive lake ecosystems. Permits are required for the construction and placement of all docks on Pomme de Terre Lake, and applicants must demonstrate compliance with a range of environmental and safety standards.

These dock restrictions serve to preserve the integrity and safety of Pomme de Terre Lake for both current and future generations. By managing the construction and use of docks, the Army Corps of Engineers aims to balance the needs of lakefront property owners with those of the broader lake community to ensure a sustainable and enjoyable recreational experience for all.
